Alongside conversations in the practice, support in everyday life can be helpful. I can help establish contact with schools and suitable services, and coordinate the next steps together.
By agreement, I also visit schools when needed and take part in a “Runder Tisch” meeting. Together, we discuss returning to school life and practical support for specific difficulties.
Together we consider who should be involved, such as teachers, school social workers or school counsellors.
We discuss what could help in lessons, during difficult periods or when returning to school, and agree manageable next steps.
School, family and others involved can agree shared goals, responsibilities and a suitable time to review progress.
Contact with schools or other services takes place only by prior agreement and with the necessary consent or release from confidentiality. We agree together which information may be shared.
Depending on the concern, additional counselling, social support or nutrition therapy may be useful. Together we can consider which service fits the situation.
